Snaplock panels require a minimum roof pitch of 3:12 (25%) or 14 degrees for proper water shedding and warranty compliance. This makes them suitable for most residential and commercial applications across Alberta.

Do I need special tools to install Snaplock panels?
No special tools are required for Snaplock installation. Standard roofing tools including a cordless drill, metal cutting shears, measuring tape, and chalk line are sufficient. The snap-together design eliminates the need for seaming machines or specialized clips.
How does Snaplock perform in Alberta's extreme weather?
Snaplock panels are specifically engineered for Western Canadian weather conditions. They feature a 110 mph wind rating when properly installed, excellent snow load capacity, and superior resistance to temperature cycling from -40°F to 150°F.
Can Snaplock panels be walked on?
While Snaplock panels can support reasonable foot traffic during installation and maintenance, walking should be minimized and always done wearing soft-soled shoes. Walk on the flat areas of panels, never on the raised ribs. This is due to scratching or scuffing not affecting the panels' integrity.
How long does installation take compared to other metal roofing systems?
Snaplock installation is typically 30-40% faster than traditional standing seam systems due to the elimination of clips and seaming requirements. A typical residential roof (2,000-3,000 sq ft) can often be completed in 1-2 days by an experienced crew.

How long will a Snaplock roof last?
With proper installation and minimal maintenance, Snaplock roofs can last forever, its metal, and its rust resistant even if you would put the panel in water, the question is how long does the paint last. Our paint has a 40 year warranty for smp and pvdf. depending on paint, finish, and environmental conditions. The Galvalume substrate provides exceptional corrosion resistance.
What voids the warranty?
Warranty coverage may be affected by improper installation, use of incompatible materials, inadequate ventilation, exposure to harsh chemicals, or modifications made without manufacturer approval.

How is Snaplock pricing calculated?
Snaplock pricing is based on several factors including panel gauge, square footage, color selection, custom length requirements, and delivery/installation services. Our on-site rolling capability can provide cost savings by eliminating transportation issues and reducing waste.
Do you offer on-site rolling service?
Yes! Our mobile rolling units can come directly to your job site to manufacture custom-length Snaplock panels exactly when and where you need them. This service eliminates transportation challenges and reduces handling damage.
What is the lead time for Snaplock panels?
Our lead times are as follows: we can roll out your metal at our site in a matter of 3 days if stock is available. If we have to order, the lead time is 5-10 days max.
Do you provide installation services?
SunSet Metal Forming does not provide direct installation services. However, we can recommend experienced roofers in your area who are familiar with Snaplock installation.
